Why do we Love Interior Design Blogs...
I've literally thought about starting a design blog for more than 10 years. I have a degree in Interior Design, am working on my NCIDQ accreditation and have completed large scale design projects around the U.S. but for some reason the commitment of starting a blog, my blog has scared me off. I'm finally jumping in albeit a bit late in the game but no time like the present!
My true dream in life has been to be a residential interior designer but for some reason I've landed in hospitality design-definitely not a bad gig but my goal through this blog is trying to lend an educated helping hand for people who want to create the spaces that help them live a better life-that's what good design can do. Should do!
Hopefully along the way I can improve my photography skills, I'm the first to say that they aren't great so bear with me as I stumble through. In the meantime here is one of the projects I completed a few years back in our former home-this was a basement bath that started as a brick CMU brick box. I came up with the design concept (board above) and we were able to pull it off pretty well thanks to a good contractor. We've since moved in with my parents and built a home which we just moved into about a month ago. Although our house is brand new and I selected the finishes, we still have a lot of work to do to complete each space and it will need to be done on a budget since we spent all of our money on the build!
